<p>The Brooksie Way races are named in memory of Brooks Stuart Patterson, the 28-year-old son of Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson. Brooksie, as he was known to his family and friends, died in 2007 after a tragic snowmobile accident, now annually in his memory a Half Marathon, 10K &amp; 5K Running and Walking race is hosted.</p><p></p><p></p>

How to enter

What's included:

All Brooksie Way participants receive official finisher medals. Half Marathon, 10K and 5K finishers receive medals with brushed gold finish and imprinted neck ribbons. Lil' Brooksie race finishers receive vinyl medals on colored neck ribbons. All finisher medals feature the Brooksie Way race logo.

Directions to Oakland University

Oakland University is located in southeastern Michigan between Flint and Detroit. The 1,441-acre campus actually extends into two cities, Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills, between Adams Road and Squirrel Road, just south of Walton Boulevard.

For easy access to all Brooksie Way activities, this map shows entrance points to the East Campus area off Adams Road.

From I-75
I-75 to Exit 79 (University Drive)
East about one mile to Squirrel Road to O.U. main entrance
North to Walton Boulevard then East to Adams Road

From Telegraph Road
Telegraph Road to Square Lake Road
To I-75 North Exit 79 (University Drive)
East about one mile to Squirrel Road to O.U. main entrance
North to Walton Boulevard then East to Adams Road

From M-59 East (from Pontiac)
M-59 past Wide Track Drive
Stay in left lane, follow sign to University Drive
Turn right on University Drive
East about four miles to Squirrel Road to O.U. main entrance
North to Walton Boulevard then East to Adams Road

From M-59 West (from Rochester)
M-59 to Squirrel Road Exit
North on Squirrel Road about three miles to Walton Boulevard
East on Walton Boulevard to Adams Road

Parking

Race Day Parking is available at several locations on the OU Campus, including convenient lots adjacent to the start/finish line, accessible from Walton, and the large grass area at the corner of Walton and Adams. Additional parking may be found in area commercial lots and neighborhoods.
Plan on arriving early – roads will begin closing by 7:00 am and significant traffic back-ups are expected. All campus roads will close approximately at 7:50 am.
If you park on campus, please be aware exit restrictions will exist in certain areas due to the active 5K and 10K race courses.
