  • Did the 10K in 2019

I was not planning on running any races in the year of 2019 due to being injured all of 2018 with three fractures. I won the BTC race series at a preview run and decided to run the Adam Heart 10k for fun. There were volunteers to greet and direct you for parking, organized and cheery volunteers at packet pick up, nice souvenir long sleeve shirts, clean public restrooms (6) close to the start, race announcements for start times/results, adequate water stops with water/gatorade and an awesome cheer squad, photo finish, best coffee in Birmingham (O'Henry's) and beer post race, instant official race results, amazing 3D heart printed medals/matted photo/gift cards for awards, and a great running atmosphere for the family. The 10k course has gradual rolling hills, but you are able to recover with the downhills. This was my first year doing this race, and I WILL DEFINITELY do it next year!

I loved running this race. It was lots of fun. I thought it was well organized and I love running at Oak Mountain.
