Welcome to the CajunMan Tri, Du, AquaBike, Aquathon & 5k run/walk! This event is all about endurance and tradition, attracting beginners and experienced triathletes from all over the Gulf Coast. Get ready for an exhilarating morning on Sunday, September 8, 2024, starting at 7:30 am. You'll conquer a 1/2 mile swim in Airport Lake, pedal 20 miles on the scenic Lafayette Parish roads, and finish strong with a 3.1-mile run through the Lafayette Regional Airport grounds. Let's dive into the details: Race Distances: - The SWIM: Choose between a 1/2 mile or 400-meter beginner swim. It's an open water swim with water temperatures around the mid-70F range. Wet suits are allowed according to USA Triathlon rules. Safety boats and water aids will be available. Make sure you're comfortable swimming at least 1/2 mile before taking on this challenge. - The BIKE: We have a new and improved route that avoids the worst sections on Garber Rd. The course will be marked, but please stay aware of your surroundings. - The RUN: Experience a 5K (3.1 miles) run that starts and finishes near the transition area at Airport Lake. The course will take you through the roads within the Lafayette Regional Airport. Look out for the marked course and enthusiastic volunteers at least 2 aid stations along the way. If you're not up for the whole race, gather your friends and come as a relay team! Each team member can tackle one of the individual sports, and teams must have a minimum of 2 participants. Mix and match to create your ultimate racing team. This event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. All participants, including relay team members, must be licensed USA Triathlon members at the time of registration. If you're not a member, no worries, you can purchase a one-day license for $15.00 on our website along with your registration. Note that the license is not necessary for the 5K.
