Camp Leavenworth 5K

Welcome to the 3rd Annual Leavenworth and Sunflower Season Celebration! Get ready for a unique and fun event that will leave you with stunning views from the bluffs of the Missouri River. Whether you're a runner or a walker, this event is open to everyone! Here's what you can look forward to: - Every finisher will receive beautiful SUNFLOWERS as a reward for their accomplishment. - Participants 18 and older will receive an awesome race shirt. - Finishers who are 21 and older will also get a FREE beer ticket to celebrate their achievement. - We have a prize purse of $350 for the top male and female finishers, with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. - Along the course, you'll be cheered on by our enthusiastic on-course cheerleaders. - We have age-group awards in 10-year increments, so everyone has a chance to win. Plus, there's a separate category for the top male and female with a stroller. - And kids under 18 race for FREE! The course will take you on a scenic single-loop journey, starting in Leavenworth, KS. You'll run south through downtown Leavenworth, then venture towards the bluffs of the Missouri River. On Friday, September 20, we encourage participants to pick up their bibs and t-shirts at Camp Leavenworth from 5-8pm. If you can't make it on Friday, don't worry, late registration will still be available. The Camp Leavenworth entrance is located at Choctaw and 2nd St. in downtown Leavenworth. On race morning, bib and t-shirt pickup will start at 8:30am at the start area. Parking won't be an issue as downtown Leavenworth has several free lots within a block or two from the starting line. We'll have two aid stations along the course, stocked with water and Gatorade, located at approximately mile 1 and mile 2.25. Prizes will be given out to our top finishers. We ask that walkers stay to the right of the course so that runners can pass easily. The race will start with the runners, followed by the walkers, and finally the stroller division. If you're over 14 years old, you're eligible for age-group prizes. We'll be awarding the top three males and females in the following age groups: 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. We'll also recognize the top male and female stroller runners. This event is perfect for families! Kids over 14 can run on their own, but children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent on the course. Strollers are welcome, and stroller riders don't need to register (only the parent needs to register). Don't miss out on this exciting event!
