Chanoko 50k, 31k, 5 mile trail runs

The Chanoko 50k & 31k Trail Runs both begin at the American River Canyon Overlook Park in Auburn (855 Pacific Avenue Auburn, CA 95603). The course will follow paved roads inside the park for 1.3 miles toward China Bar main gate. The course will turn left at Gate 171 onto the Cardiac Bypass Trail. The Cardiac Bypass Trail meets the Pioneer Express Trail at mile 3 and the American River. The trail will pass by the Newcastle Powerhouse and Avery Pond before passing through Rattlesnake Bar on the way to Horseshoe Bar. The course between Horseshoe Bar and Beeks Bight is nicknamed the meat grinder due to the steady up and down trail sections to Beeks Bight (mile 16.5). The 50k will turn left at Beeks Bight for a 3 mile section around Beeks Bight and Dotons Point (3 mile North Granite Loop) and then cross the park road to 4 Corners. The 31k course will go straight on the park road just under a half mile to 4 Corners and follow the middle trail to Old County Road (mile 18.5). Old County will be the turn-off to the finish for the 31k. The 50k will continue on the Pioneer Express Trail to Beals Point. After a lap around Beals Point the course returns to the finish at Granite Beach.

The 5 Mile race starts and finihes at Granite Beach.
