Route information
This scenic course takes runners on a 5-mile loop starting at Riverside Park. Participants will then follow a flat course that snakes alongside the Salida River, bringing runners around the Franz Number 1 Reservoir Runners will then enter the Salida Trail System, a paved bike path and continue past the country courthouse. There is an exciting mixture of paved roads, dirt, gravel and bike paths for runners to tackle during the course.
Runners will then continue up Crestone Avenue on a flat, road surface and glide past Thonhon Park towards the start/finish

Free all-day parking is available across the F Street Bridge near the start/finish area. Participants can also use parking lots on the west side of Safeway or west of G Street.
Directions
Follow the CO 291 into Salida and turn off on N E Street to arrive at the start line.

Event day logistics

Packet Pickup
Participants can pick up their race packs on the day of the event between 8:30 am - 9:50 am in downtown Salida. On the day registrations will be accepted and the cost will be approximately $40.
Awards Ceremony
The top 3 Men and Top 3 Women overall will be awarded a prize alongside the top 3 participants in the following categories (19 and under, 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's+). Prize money will be offered to the top W/F overall along with the first place M/F masters runner (40+).
Age Requirements
There are no age restrictions on who can enter the event, making it perfect for families.
Post-Event
The Christmas Mountain parade is strongly recommended for all participants to visit after they finish their race. The parade begins at 6:00 pm and is followed by fireworks.
Charity
The event raises money for the Chaffee County Community Foundation.
