Route information
All of three course will take competitors on a stunning route right around Lake Poway and to the lake near the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve. With the option of a 5k, 10k, and kids race, there truly is something for everyone.
5K:
This course is designed to let you choose your pace and can be enjoyed as a elite trail for seasoned off-road athletes, or the chance to enjoy a scenic morning hike with the family.
10K:
The 10k route presents a formidable challenge, with a testing back and out which can be characterised more as an up-and-down. You will climb up into Blue Sky before another gruelling ascent to the Ramona Dam. If you want to take part in this, then it's time to start training!
Kids Race:
This event is perfect suited for children under the age of 10 or those mini-runners who are looking for a fun, friendly time without the competition. The course is around 1/3 mile and tracks along a trail by the near-side of Lake Poway, before finishing off in the same place at the 10k and 5k.

Car:** From I-15 North, exit Ted Williams Parkway East, turn right on Twin Peaks Road, turn left on Espola Road, turn right on Lake Poway Road. From I-15 South, exit Camino del Norte East, turn left on Espola Road, turn right on Lake Poway Road.
Parking: Parking will be at off site designated parking lots with free shuttle provided to and from the event. Please note that while dogs and strollers are allowed on the course, they are NOT allowed on the shuttle buses and you will have to find alternative parking solutions and means of getting to the race site.
Parking will be supported by free shuttles at satellite parking lots on Twin Peaks Road that are TBD.
Event day logistics
Schedule:
0700: registration opens
0730: 10k race starts
0830: 5k race starts
0930: Kids race starts
Please aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled race in order to complete the registration process.
Packet Collection:
Entrants are advised to collect their packets (race bib, timing chip, and race shirt) the day before the event.

**Collection will be available on the morning of the race, however it is not encouraged.
Spectator Info
Spectators are welcome to come along and support those competing in the event.
The Event HQ will have a variety of live entertainment for supporters to enjoy.
FAQs
What awards are there?
There will be cash prizes for the top 3 (male and female) finisher's in the 5k and 10k.
1st - $250, 2nd - $100, 3rd - $50. As well as a bonus of $100 for any course records set.
Medals will be awarded for the top 3 in age groups from U-18 - 60+.
When can I collect my race packet?
Packets can be collected on the morning of the race, however, it is strongly advised that you grab your packet the day before and keep race-day as smooth as possible. This collection can be done here:

What is the event in aid of?
The Cinco de Mayo Trail Run raises funds which aim to give all kids in the area equal access and opportunity to school supplies, technology tools, and enrichment activities. As a result, these allow children to build a solid foundation for lifelong success and happiness.
