Did the 13 1 M Run in 2020
Due to the time of year please bundle up, The run it's self is very well marked but the larger amount of runners this year made it simple follow the leader. The course is a hill runners dream, but could burn out others. The organizers are great and have really gotten the best people to assist in after race food and out in the cold.… read more

A hellish course with lots and lots of climbing. So if you're looking for a big running challenge in the middle of winter, this is it. The course was scenic, going through mostly back-roads in Colchester, past lots of farms, and it included a stretch on a dirt road in a forest at one point. A big field (for the middle of February anyway!) so plenty of company on the course. Very well organized and the post-race food spread in the high school cafeteria is one of the best I've seen. The cold weather dampens the festive atmosphere a bit (obviously not the race organizers' fault), but not as much as you would think! A great event to keep your training motivated in the middle of a New England winter.… read more

Loved this race. I only rated 4 stars on organisation because it has a limited amount of info on the website and you are forced to guess when bib pickup is (just get there at least 30-45 minutes before the race). That being said, they put on a great race and you can't beat the price. Ok, the hills....yes there are hills and some are difficult but not so bad that you should avoid this race. I expected horrible and got manageable. For those watching the times, I planned to run about 1:38 and did that with no issues so I would say the hills cost maybe 2-3 minutes over an average New England half. Flatlanders find a bridge or crank the treadmill because hill running will trash your legs if not prepared. Loved seeing the race director on course cheering us on! This race is definitely staying on my routine for an early year trainer. One final thought, don't let the elevation profile scare you. Once you turn right at about mile 10 or 11, it is up hill but not nearly as bad as the graph makes it look. … read more

This was my first time running Colchester 1/2 in more than ten years. Even though the size increased a lot it still has a small race feeling. did I mention it is only $14? Incredible. Rick Konon is still the best cheerleader and Last Mile Racing is terrific. Tough course (which I love).

This is a great early season 1/2 marathon in a nice country town. This is a staple for the local running community. This takes place at Bacon Academy where there are restrooms, warm place to stay before the gun goes off, and plenty of food after the race.

Great winter half marathon! Challenging course, well organized, inexpensive registration, and great post race food provided by students. Highly recommended!
