Whether you’re a seasoned marathoner, casual runner or training for your first 5K, we have a race for you. On Saturday, October 20 we kick off our weekend of races with our 5K, Meijer Kids Fun Run and Competitive 1-Mile. Then on Sunday, October 21 the Full Marathon, International Half-Marathon and Marathon Relay kick off our international events. Detroit Marathon routes
Marathon:
Our marathon course offers international appeal, traversing both downtown Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, crossing the border at both the Ambassador Bridge and Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. You will run through historic neighborhoods, around beautiful Belle Isle, and along the spectacular RiverWalk.
With a wave start, smaller groups of participants are sent off at two-minute intervals beginning at 7:00 AM, which eases congestion in those early miles. Groups are based on the projected pace indicated on the registration form, so an accurate response is necessary.
Half-Marathon:
The International Half-Marathon course offers international appeal, traversing both downtown Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, crossing the border at both the Ambassador Bridge and Detroit-Windsor Tunnel.

5K:
Our 5K course will take participants along the Detroit Riverwalk, past Milliken State Park/Harbor, past Chene Park and through the historic Rivertown Warehouse District before finishing in front of the DNR Outdoor Adventure Center.
Kids Fun Run:
Because of safety concerns strollers, bicycles, roller-blades and skateboards are not permitted in any of our events, including the Meijer Kids Fun Run.
