Route information
Devil's Slide Run is comprised of five different race routes, all of varying difficulty and treacherous terrain. Set in Northern California some of these routes cover arguably one of the toughest single trails that the Bay Area has to offer - Alta Vista. The five course options are detailed below:
Infernal 50k: This feisty 50k this route is sure to test even the strongest of trail runners. The trail includes a whopping 7,000 feet of elevation gain and combines the Dirty 30 and Half Marathon routes just to test your mettle.
Devil's Dirty 30k: This isn't just any 30k, this coastal route covers some brutal terrain and includes a 'casual' 4,000+ feet of elevation gain. The best part - the Alta Vista Trail - a 1,200 foot climb over just one mile. There are four aid stations over the 30k course.
Hella Hard Half Marathon: A brutal 12.5 mile circuit covering 3,900 feet of elevation gain, including the infamous Alta Visa Trail. The course covers some of the most spectacular scenery in the Bay Area and gives incredible views of the San Mateo County Coast.
Evil Eleven: Despite being slightly easier on the legs, this 11k loop will still get your heart pumping and quads burning. The course is an out-and-back style route to the top of North Peak giving runners a panoramic view over the Pacific before turning around and charging back down. There are two aid stations along this route.
Fiery Four: An easier route designed for beginners and younger runners testing out their trail legs. The path takes runners through the San Pedro Valley County Park and past the seasonal Brooks Falls from the Brooks Creek Trail. Note: There are no aid stations along the 4k route.
There are cut-off times for the 4K, 11K, Half and 30K are all 3pm. The cut-off time for the 50k is 5 hours and 15 minutes at the 30k point and must be completed by 4:30pm.
