Double Peak 10K Challenge- Possibly the most challenging 10K distance course in San Diego County.  The multi-surface paths through San Elijo Hills/Double Peak offer runners the option of running on asphalt or decomposed granite.  Make no mistake, this out-and-back course is steep, but runners are rewarded with panoramic views of the entire north county and a breathtaking summit halfway point.  Expect ample aid stations on course and spectators cheering along the way.  This is a chip-timed race with awards for overall male and female finishers and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age group category.  All runners will receive a race medal.  Please no dogs or strollers on the 10K course for runner safety.  7:30AM start time
Jogging strollers are not advised due to very steep inclines on the 10K course.
5K Fun Run (New For 2017)- We’re not going to lie, this one’s a challenge too!  Offering views, nature and the experience of getting out and getting your heart rate up, without quite the leg and lung burning climbs of the 10K.  Come ready for some serious hills though!  This run/walk is un-timed and non-competitive.  All participants will receive a race medal.  The course alternates between asphalt paths and dirt paths/trails and some relatively steep inclines and declines.  Please no dogs on the run course. 8:00AM start time
Jogging strollers are not advised on 5K course due to some narrow and/or uneven surfaces (dirt) and steep inclines.
