Downingtown Good Neighbor Day - Firetrucks and Fireworks 2024!

Welcome to Downingtown Good Neighbor Day! Join us for a day filled with fun and excitement, all for a great cause. This amazing event benefits the Fire and rescue squads within the Downingtown Area School District. By participating, you'll be supporting our local emergency providers like the Alert Fire Company, Minquas Fire and EMS, Uwchlan Ambulance, and many more. Get ready to lace up your running shoes and choose from our exhilarating Run for Life races - the 5K, 10K, or 15K. We even have a non-competitive 5K Freedom Walk for those looking to enjoy a leisurely stroll. With approximately 1,500 athletes joining us each year, it's an event you won't want to miss. As a participant in our races, you'll have a chance to win fantastic prizes. The top male and female runners in each race will receive $50, and the first 1000 registered runners will get a stylish race t-shirt. We also award medals to the first three male and female finishers in each category. So, whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, there's something for everyone. For the little ones, we have the Kids K Fun Run. This is a thrilling event where kids can show off their sprinting skills. Every finisher receives a medal, and the first 200 entries even get a special race t-shirt. It's a great opportunity for kids to have their moment of glory! And let's not forget about the other exciting activities throughout the day. With 80-100 craft exhibitors, delicious food options, and a variety of scheduled activities, there's never a dull moment. You can explore the crafts, indulge in tasty treats, or simply enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. To end the day on a high note, we have a spectacular Fireworks Grand Finale that will light up the sky at dusk. It's a mesmerizing experience that will leave you in awe. Registration and packet pick-up for the races will be held at Kerr Park on July 3rd and July 4th. Don't worry if you can't make it to the park ahead of time - you can register for the Kids K Fun Run on race day. It's important to note that the entry fee is non-refundable, so be sure to mark your calendars and save the date!
