Join us on Sunday, August 18th for a unique urban orienteering experience. The start/finish and registration are in the activities room on the second floor, west side of the REI store at 905 West Eastman St. Chicago IL 60642. We will use a map of downtown Chicago provided at registration.

Route information
The format of the course is a Score-O where participants go to as many control locations as they have time to collect correct answers for during the time period of the race. Racers can select either a 1-hour (Short), 2-hour (Medium) or 4-hour (Long) time limit. Each correct answer collected will be scored as one point and each minute late in returning to the start/finish will subtract a point.
Racers may participate on foot or on a bicycle, and may ride public transportation (bus or train) or water taxis, but may not take any private motorized vehicle (car, taxi, etc.). Racers must follow all traffic laws and safety rules. Helmets are required for bikers. Some control locations are at or near water fountains, but you may prefer to carry water.

From the Kennedy Expressway (90/94) take North Avenue east to Kingsbury St. Turn right (south) on Kingsbury and go three blocks. REI is on the right (west) side of Kingsbury, at 905 West Eastman St. There is a free indoor parking lot and free street parking in the area. Also lots of bicycle racks. Or you could kayak there, as it is on the river.
Public transit: REI is roughly two blocks south of the CTA Red Line stop at North & Clybourn, seven blocks west of the CTA Brown Line stop at Sedgwick, and a couple blocks from stops on the Halsted #8, Division #70, or North #72 CTA bus routes.
