Evergreen Sprint Triathlon route
750 Meter Swim: The Evergreen Triathlon swim follows a counter-clockwise loop in scenic Evergreen Lake. In mid-July, the lake will be comfortably cool. Water temps are typically 67 to 69 degrees - similar to a Denver lake in mid-June. Our permit restrictions, however, require that all participants wear a wetsuit in this event. No swimming will be allowed in the lake prior to race day. We have received special permission for our event, which allows swimming on race day only. Anyone caught swimming in the lake at any other time will be ticketed and you will not be allowed to participate in the race. Entry fees will not be refunded if you are caught swimming before race day
12 Mile Bike Course: The 12 mile ride follows well maintained paved roadways alongside Bear Creek, then climbs up Witter Gulch and Stagecoach. The final five miles of the course is a very fun rolling descent including an auto lane that is totally closed to motor vehicles for the final two miles.
3 Mile Run: The run course will follow a mix of dirt roads and trails above and around Evergreen Lake, with a short paved stretch and some boardwalk segments. The finish will be on the lawn in front of the beautiful Evergreen Lake House. The course also includes the stairs down and up the dam, reminiscent of the Escape from Alcatraz tri. This is truly a fun course!
