Route information
Participants begin this out-and-back 5k at Soda Creek Elementary before winding through Logan avenue on a pavement surface. The terrain then spookily shifts to a trail path through Butcherknife which slopes up and down gentle hills. The course takes runners back onto the pavement as they ghost through Amethyst street towards the Spring Creek trail.
Runners will blitz through this straightforward trail route before turning at a loop point just before Spring Creek Dog pond. They will then follow the same route back to the start/finish area.
There are Halloween-themed entertainers dotted around this course, so prepare to be spooked by Goblins, Zombies, and other scary creatures.

There is parking available directly outside of Soda Creek Elementary School on the east and south side of the building.
Directions
Take the US 40 towards Steamboat Springs then turn off onto 8th street and follow the road until reaching Soda Creek Elementary School.
Event day logistics
Friday
4:00 - 6:00 pm Packet Pickup and registration at Ski Haus, Pine Grove Road
Saturday
8:00 - 8:45 am Late Packet Pickup and registration at Soda Creek elementary school
9:00 am Race starts
Packet Pickup
Participants can collect their race packs before the event at Ski Haus, Pine Grove Road between 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Friday or at Soda Creek elementary school on race day between 8:00 - 8:45 am. Those that pick up their race pack or register on the event day will be charged an extra $10 administration fee.
Awards Ceremony
The top 3 male and female competitors will be recognized in a post-race awards ceremony.
Raceday Raffle
All participants will be entered into a raceday raffle, which takes place after the awards ceremony.
Race Swag
Participants can buy custom race T-shirts for $15 which are available on race day.
Age Requirements
There are no age restrictions for the 5k, bring the little ones along.
Aid stations
There are no aid stations on the course, please bring water bottles and other necessary equipment.
Costume
Participants are encouraged to attend in Halloween costumes so get creative.
