GLOBAL ENERGY RACE IS BACK! Bimbo Bakeries is proud to host its annual Global Energy Race! 35 cities and 22 countries will join together to set families and individuals of the world in motion. Global Energy Race is for everyone: competitive runners, casual walkers, families, friends, and everyday joggers looking to come out and participate in Bimbo's healthy, active lifestyle initiative. It is truly a global event; In 2016, Global Energy Race broke the Guinness Book of World Records for the most 10K races held simultaneously worldwide on the same day! Bimbo Bakeries is also proud to partner with local area food banks during September (Hunger Awareness Month). For every kilometer completed by participants, 2 slices of bread will be donated to St. Mary’s Food Bank to support the local Phoenix community. Every step helps feed someone in need.

How to enter

What's included:

The Global Energy Race festival area at Phoenix Municipal Stadium will feature fun for everyone! Make sure to check out the post-race recovery zone, refueling snack stations, food trucks, music, special guests, and much more!

Male and Female first-place 10K winners will receive a trip for two (2) to Buenos Aires to run in the 2020 Global Energy Race!* In addition, trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in the Men’s and Women’s 10K.

All participants in the Global Energy Race will receive a medal at the finish line!

All registered participants will receive a race packet that includes:
• Tech Runners T-shirt
• Tote bag
• Race Bib with timing chip
• Finisher's Medal (received at finish line)
• And many other giveaways

Route description
Route description

The course will take you along Papago Park and Papago Golf Course, with stunning views of the famous Hole-In-The-Rock at Papago Park! After reaching the end of Galvin Parkway, 5K runners will return on the out and back course while 10K runners will connect with the Arizona Cross Cut Canal. Along the Canal, runners will pass by the Desert Botanical Gardens providing great scenic views.

The 10K is a USATF certified course. Chip timing will be used for this distance.

Logistics and schedule

Packet pick-up will be available on Friday and Saturday before race day, as well as the morning of the race.

6:00AM to 6:45AM – Check-in
7:00AM – 10K Start time
7:15AM – 5K Start time
Awards ceremony to follow completion of the 10K

Free parking is available onsite at the parking lots across from Phoenix Municipal stadium.

The nearest METRO Light Rail station is the Washington Street and Priest Drive station. It is about 1/2 mile south of the stadium.
