Route information
Embrace the great outdoors in this amazing race around the picturesque Marin Headlands. There will be amazing trail terrain to test you as well as stunning vistas and panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, and great Pacific shoreline. The route will predominantly be along single-track hiking trails and fire roads.
Course Markings
The course will be marked with orange ribbons. The 10k will be along the Miwok Trail and marked with green ribbons. Half Marathon will continue along the Old Springs Trail. Marathoners will do the Half Marathon loop twice.

Get full directionsParking
There is parking available near ft. Barry as you head toward Rodeo Beach. When you arrive on race day, there will be parking attendants directing you to the parking areas. Be sure to allow yourself 10 minutes to get to check-in from the parking area.
By Car
Take the first exit north of the Golden Gate Bridge (southbound Highway 101 drives take the last exit before the bridge). Conzelman Rd. will be the only road going uphill within sight of the freeway. Turn right onto Conzelman. Follow this road until it forks at McCullough Rd. Turn right onto McCullough. At the bottom of the hill, turn left onto Bunker Rd. Follow Bunker Rd. for approximately one mile to the large parking lot on the right.

Aid Stations
There will be no aid stations for the 10k course. Half Marathoners will pass aid stations at miles 5 and 10. Marathoners will pass aid stations at miles 5,10, 13, 18, and 23. There will be food and drinks at the finish line.
Bib Numbers
If you have received your bib in the mail you do not need to attend the check-in. If you need to pick up your bib then please attend registration that will be located at the start/finish area in the Parade Ground at Fort Barry.
Headphones policy
Since parts of this race include very narrow trails with steep drop-offs along the course, it is imperative that runners can hear each other in order to pass safely, even if they are running at a slow speed. For safety reasons (and for the enjoyment of your fellow runners) headphones (and any other audio devices) are NOT allowed.

When does the Golden Gate Headlands Marathon, Half Marathon & 10k start?
The event starts at 8:00am, if you have not recieved your bib number make sure to attend check-in to collect it. Check-in will be open from 7:00am on race day.
What is the cut-off time for the Golden Gate Headlands Marathon, Half Marathon & 10k?
All participants will have 6 hours to complete the course, walkers and hikers are welcome to attend.
Will there be aid stations at the Golden Gate Headlands Marathon, Half Marathon & 10k?
There will be no aid stations for the 10k course. Half Marathoners will pass aid stations at miles 5 and 10. Marathoners will pass aid stations at miles 5,10, 13, 18, and 23. There will be food and drinks at the finish line.
