I've run this race 6 out of 6 years. The course difficulties are based on the weather. 2018 was a good year, lot of fun and with a looped course you never run alone

I realize for the logistics of the event the start/finish had to be in the middle of the bridge, but it was extremely windy and cold while we waited to start. I didn't have to deal with turning around there on each loop, but I bet it was crazy (especially for faster runners) with two-way traffic in such a narrow space. Having said that, nobody signs up for an event like this expecting it to be anything resembling "easy", and everyone I talked to had fun. ;-)

Always amazing. This is one of the most organized races I have had the pleasure of attending. Its on my repeat list every year.

Snowy, icy, and super fun. Run by a super experienced race director. Beautiful medal and hoodie. Great supportive volunteers. A jewel in February.

Great race. This was my second year. I would highly recommend a podium (we love these picture and to be recognized). Also need better rewards. In comparison I payed 1/2 the price for a fat bike race won my division and received a special shovel growler pint glass gift cards ect.

The race was awesome, I had some personal issues during the event but none of it was due to the race staff. I wasn't well hydrated before the race and didn't bring my own hydration so the hydration on the course wasn't enough. Just good to know for next year. If you're like me and need a lot of water bring your own, just like many of the wise people who were there.

This may not be for everyone, but I love challenging myself over the elements. I was hoping for a cold and snowy run and that is what we got. I was just looking for a finish in Michigan as my training has not been up to par, but got a sub 4 out of the run. Great aid stations that had people out in the cold every time you went by, real troopers. After, good food and a nice warm area to talk about the race. Would have liked more of a drink selection, I don't drink beer and the only soda left was Pepsi 0, after a marathon I like a shot of caffeine and sugar, or better yet chocolate milk. This might have been due to the half marathon finishers diminishing the supply, not really a big deal. Other than that the start was a little of a surprise, I was not far from the start line and it seemed that without notice we were off and running. I know that it caught a few of us off guard. Rather that than a list of sponsors and how much they appreciate us being there speech. Runners are ready to run when we get to the line, not to be a captive audience, so other than not knowing the race started, this was great. I had so much fun, I'll be back. I'm looking forward to the pictures as there was a lot of crazy out there. Thanks for a great race!
