Route information
Hamsterley Forest is the largest forest in County Durham and covers 4900 square acres. Both routes will follow the tracks and trails within the beautiful forest park, where you will enjoy stunning views of the valley. They will be undulating in parts but you will be rewarded by the scenery and if you're lucky you may also spot some local wildlife.
The forest is an ideal location for trail running with a mixture of well marked footpaths, forest trails and woodland tracks. With two distances available this event is perfect for both experienced trail runners and anyone new to the sport.
Water and nibbles will be provided at mile 5, mile 10 and at the finish area.

Lovely friendly event with eco ethos. Proper trail course and weather - started in sunshine, snow at the peak, and some proper muddy sections. All in all brilliant and scenic location.

Might have been clearer to not advertise it as a half marathon due to it being longer.

Everything was just great. Even (especially) the mug and soup at the end. Looks like I'm not captured in the 10k results at the end but not to worry. A great event.
