Join the movement that's taken over the racing world. The Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k is headed back to Atlanta on February 17, 2019! Start and finish amongst Atlanta's biggest chocolate aficionados. This year, train, race, and celebrate with us all the way to the finish line. We're with you through the season.
The Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k, coined as America’s Sweetest Race, is brought to you by RAM Racing. Established in 2008, the inaugural Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k ran through the streets of Chicago, Illinois. Since its inception, over 200,000 participants have run for chocolate, making it the fastest growing race series in the nation! Each Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k race features both a 15k (9.3miles) and 5k (3.1miles) distance and all runners are encouraged to join the fun! Participants receive an award winning goodie bag, which they collect at the expo along with their race packet. The chocolate really begins to flow at the Post Race Party where runners enjoy music, Hot Chocolate merchandise, and a finisher’s mugs filled with hot chocolate, chocolate fondue and tasty dippable treats! Make-A-Wish® is the official race charity of the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k! Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child's wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness.
This was my first time running the race and I was sufficiently impressed. I had originally signed up for the 15K but switched to the 5K on the Friday before the race, which was very easy to do. Picking up my bib and the race expo was all very easy to navigate and very quick. I liked the race course, it was a bit hilly but not too much so, and I appreciated that challenge. Lots of friendly volunteers, and free race photos also a plus. My only qualm is with the mug racers received post-race. I was hoping for an actual ceramic mug, instead we got this flimsy, odd-shaped plastic bowl/mug to hold hot chocolate and snacks. The ceramic mug might be a bit more expensive, but this race is rather pricey already -- so maybe something race organizers will look at in the future.
This was a fun run!! It was my first race with this many people. The decorations were very over the top and awesome. I do wish that the parking was made more clear initially when I signed up. Also the course info. I tried researching the course before the race and couldnt find it. Might have made parking easier. Overall it was a great time though!
