The new IRONMAN Santa Rosa offers athletes the same high-quality event they've come to know and love in the heart of Sonoma County, with winding roads dotted with vineyards and world-class accommodation. Staged in beautiful Sonoma County and traversing through quaint communities like Geyersville and Healdsburg, IRONMAN Santa Rosa draws not only triathletes, but their wine and food loving family and support crews back every year.

Course Details

The split transition race begins at Lake Sonoma, nestled in the beautiful mountains of Northern California. The 2.4-mile swim is a two-loop course taking place in the calm, clean Lake Sonoma. Athletes will transition to their bikes, setting out on the 112-mile course featuring gentle rollers as they ride through famous wine country and quaint towns. The City of Santa Rosa hosts transition two where athletes will begin a tree-lined, two-loop marathon along the Santa Rosa Creek trail. The finish line will take place at the new Courthouse Square park ideally located in downtown in Santa Rosa where great food and wine can be enjoyed by all spectators.

What is the entry fee?

Once general entry sells out, is there any other way to register?

Alternative entry options vary per event. Click Here for more information on registration options. There are no waiting lists and withdrawn slots will not be resold.

Why do I have to be a member USA Triathlon (USAT) or buy a one-day license and what does that insurance cover?

USA Triathlon will sanction IRONMAN Santa Rosa. To complete the online registration process, athletes will need to enter their USAT annual license number or athletes can purchase a one-day license ($15.00 USD) or annual license ($50.00 USD) during online registration. Athletes must bring their photo identification and show proof of current USAT membership during Athlete Check-In. Otherwise, it will be required to purchase a one day license on-site. Please visit http://www.usatriathlon.org/ for a complete set of the competitive rules.

Do I need to qualify, validate or confirm my entry by completing another event?

No, competitors do not need to qualify or validate to enter IRONMAN Santa Rosa. However, we do suggest competing in a shorter distance triathlon event before race day.

What are the Age Requirements?

All athletes must be a minimum of 18 years of age as of race day for the event year to compete in IRONMAN Santa Rosa.
