This epic seaside marathon takes place on the picturesque Long Beach. Great for runners of all abilities, the course is completely flat and takes you through downtown Long Beach and along the Pacific beach path. Come along the big finisher’s medal and post-race celebrations.

JetBlue Long Beach Marathon & Half Marathon routes

Marathon
Starting in Downtown Long Beach, runners head towards the historic Queen Mary and then through Shoreline Village. After running next to the Pacific Ocean on the flat beach path, marathoners head through Belmont Shore toward Marine Stadium. Cheerleaders, sororities, fraternities, clubs, student organizations, faculty, and the school mascot Prospector Pete come out full-force to cheer as runners complete a 5K loop around the California State University, Long Beach campus. With 6.2 miles to go, runners head back towards Ocean Boulevard for a fast finish and Finish Line Festival celebration

Half Marathon
The Long Beach race course combines spectacular oceanfront views, charming seaside communities, and the metropolitan feel at the start and finish. The highest elevation on the course is 45 feet. Starting on Shoreline Drive, the course passes the new Pike at Shoreline Village, crosses the Queensway Bridge and runs to the bow of the Queen Mary, circles back around the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Lighthouse at Rainbow Harbor, then back by Shoreline Village before heading down the beautiful beach path. You’ll close out your race running above the ocean along the bluff before closing out downhill into a cheering final straight of fans.

Aquarium of the Pacific 5K
The 5k takes place on Saturday, October 12th and is the perfect distance for all running abilities! Run the 5k with friends and family, use it as a shakeout run for Sunday race events, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Pacific’s exhibits, mascots and staff and volunteers cheering you on!

20 Mile Bike Tour
Join the 20 mile Bike Tour distance! This event provides avid and leisure cyclists alike the opportunity to ride one of the most beautiful Bike Tours in Southern California. It is a safe, scenic and fully closed 20 mile course. Be a part of the marathon weekend experience with all the perks including a commemorative event shirt, finishers medal, FREE Beer in the Michelob Ultra Beer Garden and more! Enjoy the sights of Long Beach on the Bike Tour with your friends and family!

Raceday Logistics
We recommend that you arrive 45-60 minutes prior to the start of your race.
Volunteers

Long Beach has a great tradition of enthusiastic volunteers known as the “Bubba Gump Volunteer Crew” We are looking for individuals, clubs and associations to help be a part of this 2,000 plus-person team. All volunteers will receive a Race Team t-shirt, special volunteer parking, credit for community service hours, detailed training before the shift starts, and all volunteers are treated to a post-race party hosted by Motiv Sports.

What are the pace groups?
There will be pace groups in the half marathon and marathon with the following goal finish times:
Half Marathon: 1:30, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:10, 2:15, 2:20, 2:30
Marathon: 3:05, 3:10, 3:25, 3:35, 3:45, 4:00, 4:10, 4:25, 4:55, 5:25

What is provided at the aid stations on the course?
Aid station support will be announced closer to the race. Water, electrolyte, and gels are usually provided on the course.

Where is gear check located?
Gear Check is located in Marina Green. When in the start chute, the gear check tent is to your left. The gear check tent will be in the same location upon your finish.
