Route information
Both courses begin in historic Pioneertown and both head towards the breathtaking Sawtooth mountains, where runners can take in desert plains and beautiful surrounds.
The 10k route enters into a wooded section after a steep uphill section, runners will loop around in this conservancy trail before heading back towards the start/finish area. There are 2 aid and water stations on the course.
The Half Marathon course sends runners into the heart of the Sawtooth mountains, with an elevation of 400 meters, this one is not for the faint-hearted.
Runners will earn breathtaking views of Pioneertown and the high desert. Participants will then continue through the mountains, taking the downhill route towards Pioneerstown where they will reach the finish. There are 4 full aid and water stations to aid runners on the route.

Follow route 15 or route 10 towards the event area until you reach Pioneertown.

Packet Pickup
Runners can pick up their race packet in advance of the event on Wednesday between 4-8:00pm at Road Runner Sports, Laguna Hills, CA. It is also possible to pick up race packets on the event day early on the event day. Make sure to arrive with plenty of time to spare.
T-Shirt
All runners will be given a John Wayne Grit Series Patagonia custom shirt after completing the race.
Chip-timed results
Runners participating in both courses will be chip timed.
Awards
The top 3 Men and Top 3 Women finishers on the course will receive a podium prize.
Aid and Water stations
There are 4 aid and water stations on the Half marathon course and 2 on the 10k course.
Course cut-off
Cut-off information will be provided closer to the event.

Runners of any age can participate in this event.
