As the sun sets, the party starts in this night race Half Marathon through the Mojave Desert in Joshua Tree. Let the starry skies light your way as you race along sand-covered dirt roads and trails, the perfect challenge to add to the end of your racing season.

Joshua Tree Half Marathon route

Treat yourself to a new challenge in this night race half marathon through the Mojave Desert in Joshua Tree.

The race will hold unique challenges that only a night race in the desert could hold including a route lit only by stars and personal lamps and sand underfoot, and so should not be underestimated.

The race will start and end at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground, and will be run almost entirely on dirt roads and trails, which can greatly differ based on weather and travel. Runners should be prepared for loose sand that makes some sections difficult to get footing, and all runners should bring a headlamp and wear reflective gear.

The route will be well-marked, with plenty of aid stations to keep you safe and steady throughout the entire race.

Aid Stations:

Aid stations typically start at mile 3 and are located every other mile after that with a bonus station around mile 12.

Every aid station includes: toilets, water, Go Gnarly electrolyte drink, Honey Stinger gels, and basic first aid supplies. Around miles 7 & 11 there will also be cut fruit and bananas. EMT's are usually stationed near mile 7.

All aid stations are cup-free, disposable cups WILL NOT be provided. You can either bring your own hydration system or request a free HydraPouch® during registration.
