Route information
A night run with unique challenges, where the course will have no lighting. Headlights will be required. The course is well-marked but it is your responsibility to know the course and to pay attention to runners and be mindful of traffic.
The race will start and finish at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground. This course is entirely on dirt roads and trails. The dirt roads will have sand on them adding to the challenge of this course.
This race does not take place inside Joshua Tree National Park boundaries. It is recommended by the organizer to spend the day at the national park before the race.

Get full directionsParking
There will be plenty of parking to accommodate all runners. The parking lot opens at 10:00am. The designated parking areas will be around Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground. All cars should be parked before 4:30pm.
Drop off
If you are being dropped off, please follow the drop off signs. Drop off will be on the corner of Las Brisas Dr and Sunfair Rd. If you intend to stay and wait for your runner, please park with the rest of the event traffic.

Race Packet Pick-up
Race packets can be collected on the day or can be shipped before the race for $30. If you want to collect your race packet on the morning of the event, you can from the Race Expo.
Cut-off time
There will be a 4 hour cut-off time all runners must finish by 10:00pm.
Zero Waste
This is a zero-waste event that wants to be kept sustainable and manage negative impacts on the environment. Cups will not be provided on the course. Please bring one of the following:
- Reusable water bottle
- Nathan reusable cup: light-weight cups fold into your pocket or waistband.
- Hydration back: These are refillable backpacks for running that have a built-in straw for you to drink out of.
Military Discount
The Military Registration option is for Military Personnel only. This means you must be actively serving or retired from a military branch, have a DD214 or are serving as a reservist. Dependents of Active Duty Service members also qualify. Please review the vacation races military policy on their website if you have any questions regarding your qualifications.
Military Registrations do not qualify for the Transfer policy. However, you do qualify for our deferment or refund options. You must present your military ID upon arrival at the race. Anyone violating the military policy will be banned from all Vacation Races events.
Course Acknowledgement
This race does not take place in the Joshua Tree National Park Boundaries. This race takes place outside of the boundary. It is encouraged by the organizer that you spend your day at the National Park.
Spectator Info
Spectators and runners are welcome around the finish line to cheer on runners. They can park in the same parking lot and walk to the finish area.

Is there a time limit for the Joshua Tree Half Marathon?
Yes, 10:00pm Runners have a 4 hour chip time to complete this race.
I've received my race t-shirt however it does not fit me. How can I get this issue resolved?
A shirt exchange will be available at the finish line on race day to deal with any fitting issues.
Will any bags be provided to keep all the race day goodies in?
In the organizer's ongoing effort to eliminate waste during our races, their expos are bagless events. It is encouraged you that you bring your own bag to hold your bib, race shirt, and any goodies.
