The Kaiser Permanente Thrive San Diego Half Marathon and 5k is a scenic loop route along Crown Point that starts and finishes at Ski Beach in Mission Bay and features fast and flat stretches, bay views and ocean breezes.

Parking will be available at the Ski Beach lot (North only), on Vacation only near Model Yacht Pond, and at the Crown Point Shores, Parking Lots located approximately a half-mile walk away.
Complimentary shuttles will be running between 6:00am and 12:00pm from the Crown Point Shores lots and Ski Beach.
Car Drop-off points
If you are being dropped off it is recommended to be dropped off at the corner of Vacation Rd. and Ingraham St. for best access.

Packet pick-up
Walk-up registration will be available at Packet pick-up if the event is not sold out. Please bring your Photo ID to Packet pick-up, you may pick it up for a friend if you have a copy of their photo ID. Please plan on attending one of the pre-race packet pickups.
Pre-race packet pick-up information will be available closer to the date of the event.
Age requirements
- 5k: Entrants must be 7 years of age or older to participate
- Half Marathon: Entrants must be 12 years or older to participate. Ages 7-11 are encouraged to enter the 5k
Cut-off Time
The course will have a 4-hour time limit for the Half Marathon course and 90 minutes for the 5k.
Water Stations
There will be 7 water stations along the Half Marathon route. There will be 1 water station on the 5k route.
Bag Check
There will be a bag check available at the start line.
Strollers
Strollers are strongly discouraged. For safety of other runners and walkers, you will be asked to start at the very back of the race and remain with other runners and walkers who also have strollers.
Awards
Awards will be presented to the Top 3 finishers overall in both the Half Marathon and 5k in the Awards Ceremony. Age Division medals are awarded to the top 3 finishers in both Half Marathon and 5k age groups.
Age Groups are as follows: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 6-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
Please collect age group awards at the conclusion of the race from 9:00am - 11:00am at the expo awards table. Age group awards will not be posted.
Virtual event
For those who can't make the race in San Diego but still want to participate, complete your distance anytime during race week and post your results on the virtual leaderboard.
Instructions for posting results to the leaderboard will be sent the week leading up to race week.
All items will be mailed out prior to Race Day with shipping included. Registration deadline to receive items before race day is November 7th.
Spectator Info
Spectators are able to watch the finish anywhere along the finish line venue. The finish lines will be clearly visible once spectators enter the park.
