Route information
This day of mountain biking hosts some amazing trails and singletrack courses that are bound to get your pulse raised. The courses are laid out as such: the 12 mile and 24 mile will be the same course, with 24 mile competitors doing 2 laps. There will also be a 32 mile race that will be on a 16 mile course which is comprised of the 12 mile and with an extra 4 miles added to the lap. The 4 hour race will be solely held on the 12 mile course.
The route will host stunning views of the surrounding area making it perfect for all participants to tackle the terrain whilst exploring some awe-inspiring tracks and trails. This course will not be closed to the public so make sure to yield to any other route users.

From Sacramento to the race venue
Take the Interstate 80 towards Reno, then take Hwy 89 S exit towards Lake Tahoe. Head towards Hwy 28 and then turn left onto Fabian way, right onto Village Road, and left onto Country Club Drive. The entrance to the Highlands Community Center will be on your left.

Team Pit
The Team Pit area is located at the main venue. Teams will be provided with a designated patch of ground to set up their support on a first come first serve basis. You may set up on Friday afternoon or on the morning of the race, please note there will be no security on Friday night. The Team Pit Area will close at 8:00pm on Friday and will open at 6:00am on Saturday Morning.
Event Rules
- No mp3 players (music, earplugs) on the course
- Helmets must be CPSC, ANSI or SNELL certified and worn at all times
- Race numbers must be displayed on the front of your handlebars at all times
- Respect the trail system and all those using it is paramount
- Passing: Vocalize your intent when passing "passing the right/left." Pass in a location that works, not on a tight corner
- Right of way: This course is not close, yield to non-racers when necessary, represent yourself with class
4 Hour Course Rules
- A rider must complete their lap. Substitutions or restarts can only be made at the main timing area
- Consecutive laps are allowed, 4-hour team
- Cancelling a lap: A team has the option to cancel a teammate's lap and restart the lap with another teammate. The start of the canceled lap time will be the start of the new lap.
- All riders must start their final lap before 12:00pm and must complete it by 1:10pm in order for the lap count.

Can I wear headphones during the Lake Tahoe Mountain Bike Race?
No MP3 players or headphones may be used while on the course.
How can I pass another cyclist at the Lake Tahoe Mountain Bike Race?
You must pass at a safe location, not on a tight corner or in a narrow section. If you are passing, you must vocalize your intent, eg "Passing on the right/left."
When can I set up my team pit at the Lake Tahoe Mountain Bike Race?
You can set up your team pit either on Friday evening (before 8:00pm) and also on Saturday morning from 6:00am onwards. There will not be any security on Friday night.
