Pull on your Lederhosen and run along the Squaw Valley Trail to kick start Oktoberfest. Great for all runners, the course is a simple out-and-back 5k run through the valley. Come along for the Lederhosen contest and all the Oktoberfest celebrations.

Lederhosen 5K route

The course is out and back on the Squaw Valley Trail. There will be a water and aid station at the turning point of the course.

The race is at altitude on trails, so please wear correct equipment.


Volunteers can earn a free race registration of their own. Per hour of volunteering, you will receive $10 of Big Blue Adventure Bucks for future events. Volunteers must be aged 17 or older.

Can I purchase tickets on the day?

If the event has not already sold out, tickets can be purchased on the day at an extra cost of $5.

Is there a cut-off time?

No, participants are welcome to run, or walk, the race at their own pace.

Can I wear headphones?

It is not encouraged to wear headphones, both for your own personal enjoyment of the race and for the safety of your fellow runners. Running without headphones will allow you to appreciate the race environment, build camaraderie with other runners, and hear instructions and encouragement from volunteers.

Are dogs allowed?

No dogs are allowed on the course. In the venue area, dogs are permitted but should be kept on a leash at all times.
