Lexus LaceUp Running Series – Palos Verdes routes

Half marathon

Starts and finishes at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. Runners head south and uphill along Palos Verdes Drive. After Wayfarers Chapel, the course heads past Pelican Grove and Point Vicente Lighthouse followed by a left turn on Calle Entradero. The course then rejoins Palos Verdes Drive, with a left turn on Via Pacheco and then down Paseo del Mar. Runners go left at Bluff Cove then head back to Pelican Cove Park, where the race finishes.

There is a four-hour time limit on the Half Marathon course.

10K

Starts and finishes at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. Runners head south and uphill along Palos Verdes Drive. After Wayfarers Chapel, the course heads past Pelican Grove and Point Vicente Lighthouse followed by a left turn on Calle Entradero. The course then rejoins Palos Verdes Drive, where runners will turn around and run towards Pelican Cove Park to finish.

There is two-hour time limit on the 10K course.

5K

Starts and finishes at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes. Runners head south and uphill along Palos Verdes Drive. After Wayfarers Chapel, the course heads past Pelican Grove and Point Vicente Lighthouse followed by a left turn on Calle Entradero. At this point, runners return to Pelican Cover Park to finish.

There is one-hour time limit on the 5K course.

Aid stations are located every 2 miles along the course.

This is the most scenic half marathon in southern California and certainly one to add to your bucket list. This event began as a marathon in the 60s and converted to a half marathon, with a 10k and 5k too, in 2014. This is tough race, but the rewards lie in the iconic and picturesque scenery lining the course.

Packet Pickup: TBC

Packets must be picked up on Friday, 15 November. If this is not possible, you must purchase the “Race Morning Packet Pickup” for $5.

Please bring appropriate ID to collect your packet. Packets can be picked up by friends and family if they have appropriate ID.

Race day pickup (for those that paid the additional $5) should be done 1 hour prior to your race start time (packet pick-up closes 15 minutes prior to each race).

Spectators

Each race starts and finishes with a vibrant party, with music and brunch for participants and spectators.

FAQs

Can I change my race distance? If you have signed up for a race but would like to change your distance, you can easily do that. Just locate your confirmation email and follow the instructions.

Are strollers allowed? Strollers are allowed at all LaceUp events. Runners with strollers will be asked to start at the back of their respective wave.

Will there be pacers? Yes, there will be pacers for each half marathon and marathon. Please refer to each race location for pacing times.

Will there be aid stations on course? There will be aid stations approximately every two miles on each course and at the finish line. Aid stations will be stocked with Nuun and Honey Stinger product.

What if I cannot finish the race? If you cannot complete the course there will be a vehicle available to bring you back to the finish line, so you can enjoy the Health and Fitness Expo and post-race brunch.

Where can I get my results?Results will be available at the Lexus space in the Health and Fitness expo area. In addition, results will also be posted online on the Laceup Running Series Website.

What is the time limit on the course? There is a four-hour time limit on the Half Marathon courses. Participants need to maintain a 18:20 minute/mile pace. Ventura marathon time limit is six hours. Participants that fall behind the time limit will be directed to the sidewalk by course staff or police officers. Participants will be allowed to finish the race but will not be guaranteed a finishing time.

Where can I check my gear during the event? There is a secure Gear Check available for all participants. You can drop off your items before the race and pick them up after the event.

Is there an age minimum? Participants must be eight years or older to participate. Participants under the age of eight will be allowed on a case-by-case basis. Please email [email protected] if interested.

Can I use headphones during the race? For safety reasons, we don’t recommend wearing headphones during the race. If runners choose to wear headphones during a race, we request they use a low volume enabling them to hear runners and traffic around them.
