Marlette Lake Tahoe 50K & 10 Miles Trail Run routes

10K: Total elevation gain = 1925ft

The Marlette 10 Miler starts at Spooner Lake and heads north on the North Canyon Trail. Then heads along the south shore of Marlette Lake to the Marlette Lake Trail and back to the finish. This is a beautiful run featuring views of the canyon and Snow Valley Peak.

50K: Total elevation gain = 6422ft

The 50K race goes on a counter-clockwise loop, taking in climbs such as Snow Valley Peak and Herlan Peak.

Raceday Logistics
  • 06:00 - Pre-race packet pick-up, check-in, and registration opens
  • 07:00 - Pre-race packet pick-up, check-in, and registration closes
  • 07:15 - Pre-race briefing
  • 07:30 - Race begins
  • 08:50 - First 10 miler finisher expected
  • 11:00 - Prizegiving for 10 milers
  • 11:25 - First 50K runner finisher expected
  • 14:00 - Prizegiving for 50K runners
  • 15:30 - Cut-off time for 50K (8hrs)

Volunteers can earn a free race registration of their own. In return for volunteering a minimum of 4 hours, you will receive:

Volunteers must be older than 17, or accompanied by an adult/guardian

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I purchase tickets on the day?
If the event has not already sold out, tickets can be purchased on the day at an extra cost of $10.
Is there a cut-off time?
Yes, for the 50k run, you must finish within 8 hours (15 mins per mile). There will be some cut-offs during the race.
Can I wear headphones?
It is not encouraged to wear headphones, both for your own personal enjoyment of the race and for the safety of your fellow runners. Running without headphones will allow you to appreciate the race environment, build camaraderie with other runners, and hear instructions and encouragement from volunteers.
Are dogs allowed?
No dogs are allowed on the course. In the venue area, dogs are permitted but should be kept on a leash at all times.

    Did the 10 Miler in 2019

    It was a great event. Loved the course. The only problem is that I was put in the men's division instead of the women's on the result page. Nancy King. I think I would have gotten 3 rd in my age group
