Join us for one of America's best annual traditions - a Fourth of July run! This year will be our 40th anniversary, so you don't want to miss out. Even better, Mountain Runners reinvests all proceeds from the 4th of July Event into the community. We make significant contributions to community health & fitness projects and support numerous local youth sports activities, as well as continue our legacy of beautification & enhancement projects in downtown Mt. Shasta.

STARTING LINE:
The Start is in downtown Mount Shasta at the corner of Castle Street and N. Mt. Shasta Blvd.

What's included
All entrants will receive an original Mount Shasta 4th of July t-shirt and will be eligible for a variety of wonderful prizes worth over $5,000 donated by local merchants. All registered participants will automatically be entered into the drawing with the chance to win the grand prize. All finishers in the 2-mile youth race and 5-mile race will receive finisher medals. All entrants are invited to sample tasty treats from local restaurants & stores offering some of their favorite nibbles. Participants will be entertained dozens of talented performers along the walk route.
A family discount of $5 per person is available for groups registering 4 or more participants.

Exit Closures for Race on Interstate 5 - Mt. Shasta City:
Both Central Mt. Shasta exits on Interstate 5 will be closed from 8:00am - 10:00am on July 4th for this event. We suggest avoiding these exits – even before 8:00am.
Our suggestions to enter Mt. Shasta City:
- Northbound Interstate 5 – take the Mt. Shasta City offramp (#737)
- Southbound Interstate 5 – take the Mt. Shasta City offramp (#740)
Both of these exits will take you into Mt. Shasta City avoiding the area of heaviest congestion expected on July 4th.
Roadwork:
Caltrans will be replacing pavement this summer on southbound I-5 south of Mt. Shasta to Dunsmuir – which means moving southbound traffic to the northbound side – reducing northbound to 2 lanes. We are not sure what impacts there will be coming up the grade but you may want to allow extra driving time.

Event day logistics
Packet Pickup/Late Registration - Packet pickup and late registration will be June 2 & 3 at the Mount Shasta Community Building at 629 Alder Street (corner of Alder and E. Ivy) in Mount Shasta.
Packet pickup and race day registration will also be available the morning of July 4th starting at 6:30 at Parker Plaza on Mount Shasta Blvd.
