Neuse River Bridge Run

Get ready to lace up your running shoes and join us for a fun and meaningful event - the Neuse River Bridge Run (NRBR)! For over 19 years, NRBR has been bringing together adults, children, volunteers, and sponsors to support six incredible non-profit organizations in our community. By participating in the NRBR, you'll be making a difference for the Craven Community College Foundation, The Filling Station, Duffyfield Phoenix Project, Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina, Religious Community Services (RCS), and Twin River YMCA. All of the net revenue generated by the event will be equally shared among these six organizations. The NRBR offers four separate events: the 1/2 Marathon, 10K, 5K, and the SuperKids Fun Run. And guess what? For the 2024 edition, you can choose to participate in person or virtually, offering a total of eight events! The in-person races will take you over bridges, through historic neighborhoods, and downtown New Bern. Only the in-person 1/2 Marathon and 10K events provide the full bridges experience, so keep that in mind. Safety is our priority, so please note that the Neuse River Bridge is only open for runners on our designated in-person date, May 4, 2024. Mark your calendars! The in-person events will take place on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, 2024. But we also have something special for the little ones - the SuperKids Fun Run will be held on Friday, May 3, with a start time of 5:30 p.m. Early registration and race kit pickup for the SuperKids Fun Run will be on Thursday, May 2, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Religious Community Services (RCS). These races will be timed, and a chip-enabled bib is required. You can pick up your race kit at the Riverfront Convention Center on Friday, May 3, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., or on Saturday, May 4, from 6:00 a.m. to 15 minutes before the start of your race. Here are the start times: - 7:00 a.m. - Half Marathon - 7:30 a.m. - 10K - 8:15 a.m. - 5K We've partnered with Run the East, North Carolina's leading race timing and management services provider, to ensure accurate timing for our in-person events. Their goal is to provide you with an excellent race experience. Now, let's talk fees. Early registration is available until February 29th, so make sure to save your spot before prices increase on March 1, 2024. In-person fees: - Half Marathon: $70 / $80 (after Feb. 29) - 10K: $55 / $65 (after Feb. 29) - 5K: $45 / $50 (after Feb. 29) - Kids Run: $20 (no increase) We appreciate your dedication, and that's why we'll be awarding Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals to the top three finishers in the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon categories for both males and females. Plus, the top three finishers in each of the thirteen age groups will receive medals. All Half Marathon runners who complete the race will also receive a finisher's medal. Virtual participants are also welcome to join in the fun! The virtual events will take place from Saturday to Sunday, April 27 to May 5, 2024. While these races won't be timed, you can track and report your race results through the RaceJoy app or the NRBR website. Unfortunately, place medals won't be awarded for virtual participants, but 1/2 Marathon runners will receive a participation/finisher's medal. If you choose the virtual option, you can either pick up your race kit at the Riverfront Convention Center on Friday, May 3rd, or have it shipped to you for a fee of $7.95 per person. The first mail date for virtual race kits is April 20, and the last day for registration and kit mailing is May 4th. After the event, we'll be hosting a post-race celebration at the Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County. It's the perfect opportunity to celebrate your achievement with your family, friends, and fellow participants. Food, soft drinks, and beer will be served, and we'll be awarding the top three male and female times in each age category. So what are you waiting for?
