Nine Trails is considered an absolute classic on the ultra circuit. But don't be fooled, this event is not for the faint-hearted so prepare yourself (mind and body). This race is strictly for advanced runners, but if you consider yourself such then sign up and brace yourself.

Nine Trails 35 Mile Endurance Run route

This savage 35 miler is an infamous trail on the ultra circuit, considered tougher than most 50 mile routes it puts runners in their natural habitat - the wild. With trail names like 'Rattle Snake Trail' and 'Inspiration Point', this event will push runners to their limits while offering solace in it's stunning scenery.

Please note that due to recent fires and flooding the course may change as confirmation is needed from USFS for the current route. More details will be sent out closer to the date.

This race is intended for experienced ultra runners and as such on-course support will be limited.

3:00pm - 5:00pm - packet pick up at Santa Barbara Running 110 Anacapa Street

Saturday, March 23
4:00am - 5:45am - runner check in
6:00am - Start
1:00pm - 17.5 mile cut-off
4:00pm - 26 mile cut-off

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to bring refreshments, hydration and nutrition for the Nine Trails Endurance Run?
Yes, this is a serious race and requires serious preparation. Please bring appropriate race nutrition and hydration systems for your race.
How hard is the Nine Trails Endurance Run?
It is a tough race, known among the ultra circuit as being as hard as a "tough 50 miler" (despite being 35 miles). This is not for the faint hearted, so get training.
Can I park at the Nine Trails Endurance race?
No, there is extremely limited parking so please do not plan on parking. You will need to have someone pick you up and drop you off before and after the event.
What time does the Nine Trails Endurance race start?
6:00AM but please arrive at least an hour before the race in order to get registered and warmed up.
How frequently are the aid stations?
Although there will be aid stations on the course, the complex nature of the trail system makes it difficult to have many so they will be spread out. Full aid stations will be at miles; 9, 17, 27 and the finish line.
