This course has been certified by the USATF, and its distance certified for accuracy.
The route takes you through the most scenic areas of Highland Park, and you observe a variety of neighbourhoods, as well as the iconic Fort Sheridan. The course is hilly at times, with a particularly challenging hill just after the halfway point.

Parking:
There are plenty of parking lots and garages in Downtown Highland Park. Please make sure you are not parking where you shouldn't be, particularly in private parking lots.
Please note that there will be road closures on the day, as the race passes through streets of Highland Park. These will be announced close to race day.
Event day logistics
Schedule:
06:00am: Recommended arrival time
06:00am - 11:30am: Gear check available
07:00am: 5K start
07:45am: 5K Awards Ceremony
07:30am: Half Marathon start
09:45am: Half Marathon Awards Ceremony
Please arrive at least 45 minutes before race time to ensure plenty of time for registration
Packet pickup: Please do not forget to pick up your race packet before race day, which will include your race day bib and goody bag. There is no race packet collection on race day.
There will be a staggered start with groups starting every 3 minutes, and you will be notified of your starting corral approximately 2 weeks before event day.
Toilets:
There will be tons of toilets along the course as well as the start/finish line
Gear Check:
There will be a gear check available at the race. All Gear Check bags must be 12" by 18" or smaller. Your race bib will have a tab at the top. Tear this off, as it's also your claim tab for Gear Check. Please attach it to your Gear Check bag, then hand the bag over at the Gear Check tent. Small zip ties work best for securing Gear Check bags, so look for one in your goodie bag.

When will the results be posted for the North Shore Classic?
Results will be posted on the event website in real time as you cross the finish line.
Will there be a cutoff time for the North Shore Classic?
Participants are asked to hold a 15 minute per mile pace, which equates to a brisk power-walk. If you fall below this pace, you will be asked to reroute to a shorter race as the organizer can no longer guarantee course support.
Is there a minimum age for the North Shore Classic?
No, there is no age minimum or maximum, however, anyone under 12 must be accompanied at all times and the 15 minute per mile pace must be kept up by all participants.
