Route information
A vibrant fun, fast and social route through the very best of Oakland, runners will get a feel of the authenticity from the steps of City Hall and Jack London Square to Uptown and Lake Merritt. Runners will see the best of Oakland with the fun packed event for all.
Runners have the option to run both the Half Marathon & the 5k in the Oaktown Challenge.
There are various ways to pick up the packs in advance:
- Wednesday, August 11th (5:00pm-7:00pm) a Packet Pop-Up with live music at the Oaklandish Downtown Store.
- Thursday, August 12 (5:00pm-7:00pm) Launch Party with live music at Old Kan Beer & Co where there will be food, drink and special prizes.
- Friday, August 13 (4pm-7:30pm) Sports Basement Berkeley.
- You can pick it up on race day by selecting the option when registering.

5k runners can arrive at the bart station (12th Street, Oakland City Center) directly underneath festival venue. However not available for the Half Marathons 7am start

Cut-off Time
Please note that there is a 3 hour cut-off time for the Half Marathon race, meaning all runners of this race must complete it by 10am.

Are baby strollers permitted at the Oaktown Half Marathon, 5k & Stomper's Stomp?
Strollers are allowed at this event. However, please ensure that you start at the back and stick to the right when on-course, so that runners can pass by easily.
Are there refreshment stations on the Oaktown Half Marathon, 5k & Stomper's Stomp?
The Half Marathon will have aid stations approximately every 2 miles - 6 in total. The 5k will have an aid station at mile 1.5. Aid stations are stocked with water, nuun sports drink, and every even miles will have portable toilets.
Are bikes, scooters, skateboards, push bikes allowed on the Oaktown Half Marathon, 5k & Stomper's Stomp?
Due to safety concerns, only baby strollers/joggers and wheelchairs are allowed on the course.
