The OC 5K offers runners who prefer shorter distances a great way to participate in the Marathon Day experience. The 5K course start line is just west of the marathon and half marathon finish line inside the OC Fair and Event Center. The course circles through the fairgrounds and crosses Fairview Drive and on to Merrimac Way. The runners loop around the Orange Coast College campus and enter the marathon course on Merrimac Way. Runners re-enter the OC Fair and Event Center before heading to the finish line.

The first mile of the OC Half Marathon course includes a breathtaking panorama of the Pacific Ocean before winding through the seaside village of Corona del Mar including the spectacular Ocean Blvd. with cliffside views of Big Corona del Mar State Beach. The OC Half Marathon course is net downhill in elevation from start to finish. The first 6.5 miles will be extremely fast with only minor inclines. Volunteers

The OC marathon simply would not be possible without the efforts of its epic volunteers. Volunteering roles vary across the weekend but usually included baggage drop, course marshalling, and manning aid stations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the age limits?
Participants must be 16 years of age or older to participate in the FULL Marathon. Participants must be 14 years of age or older to participate in the HALF Marathon. Participants under 14 years of age should consider the 5K and/or Kids Run the OC Mile Run.
What are the wheelchair rules for the OC Marathon and Half Marathon?
This division is for Push Rim & Hand Cycle participants. ALL participants, whether registered for the FULL or HALF marathon, will be required to start just prior to the FULL MARATHON. This is a change from previous years! All athletes will start 2 minutes prior to the FULL at 5:28 A.M. All participants must wear helmets.
Is there a finish line party?
THE ULTIMATE FINISH LINE PARTY BEGINS WHEN YOU FINISH THE 5K, HALF MARATHON AND FULL MARATHON The past few years have seen 80's stars grace the Ultimate Finish Line Party Stage. From Dale Bozzio of Missing Persons, Mike Score from Flock of Seagulls, Tommy Tutone, and John Easedale from Dramarama to last year's line up up Clive Farrington, Nick Richards, Annabella Lwin of Bow, Wow Wow and Wally Palmar from the Romantics.

UPS, one of the most recognized names in the world, will ensure your personal items are safely delivered to you at the finish line. UPS has been handling our Personal Item Storage for years and they are FANTASTIC!
Am I allowed to bring my baby stroller jogger, or have a friend inline skate with me?
Baby stroller joggers will be allowed, but you must start at the back of all the participants. In-line skaters, bicyclists, as well as pets will be prohibited on the course in order to ensure the safety of all runners.
Are walkers allowed?
Walkers are encouraged to participate in the Half Marathon rather than the Full Marathon. The Full Marathon course has a time limit of 7.0 hours.
