Paseo de Mariposa

All events at the Paseo de Mariposa will start and finish at the Mariposa County Superior Courthouse. There will be aid stations spread out throughout the courses and members of the Mariposa county search and rescue team will also be on hand for runner support.

The 5k is the most family/beginner friendly course at the event. Beginning on paved roads, there will be a short climb the high school baseball field and another short and steep climb up a paved road and into the preserve. The course will then travel on a dirt fire road before turning around and heading back to the finish line.

The 8k will follow the 5k route and then continue on past the reservoir where the turn around point is located by the kiosk near Hwy 140. There is a steep and rocky climb just before the reservoir, plus another climb before the turnaround point. After following the 5k course on the return, the course will do a quick lap around the courthouse before crossing the finish line.

The 12k is the largest and most challenging course. It will follow the same course until it enters the preserve, where there is a short and steep downhill section with several tripping hazards along the way before you get to Stockton Creek. The course then crosses the creek and then starts a long single track climb up to the reservoir and slaughterhouse road. There is then a gentle climb up to the Flume Trail, and then the final segment is a single track along the upper trail.
