This is the race that started it all, bringing the City of Phoenix to its feet back in 1976. Founded by Dr. Art Mollen, whose vision brought our growing , vibrant city together with a sport still in its infancy. It set the charge used to ignite the running boom in Arizona. Over the years, the race has hosted Olympic Gold Medalists, American record holders and more first time race participants than any other event in the southwestern United States. It's not just Arizona's original road race. It's not just a great party. It is Phoenix at its finest!

Jefferson / 1st Ave: (SEB) Southeast-bound train only. West side of 1st Ave between Washington and Jefferson
Washington / Central Ave: (NWB) Northwest-bound train only, NW corner of Central Ave and Washington
3rd St / Washington: (NWB) Northwest-bound train only, NW corner of 3rd St and Washington
Jefferson / 1st Ave: (SEB) Southeast-bound train only. West side of 1st Ave between Washington and Jefferson

BY CAR
Access by car is via 7th St. exit from either I-10 or I-17 (Maricopa section). Street parking in the area is plentiful with the streets just south of Jefferson having the most street parking spaces. Meters will require payment on Sunday beginning at 8am. Most (if not all) meters now accept credit cards as well as coin.
