The Binghamton Pond Festival was created to provide a fun family event for our community to enjoy during the winter. It has become a month-long series of events in the area. We have a strong hockey community in the Binghamton area and this festival celebrates the sport locally. It offers an excuse for anyone to come out during winter and have some fun. What makes our festival unique is that we use mechanical refrigeration to manage weather concerns related to outdoor hockey. This allows us to have great ice even when temperatures exceed 50 degrees and there is full sun on our 220'x110' ice sheet. To our knowledge, this is the largest refrigerated outdoor ice sheet in North America. Spectators are always welcome at our hockey events, as well as all park guests and anyone else who wants to come and enjoy the weekend with us. So bring a camp chair, your four-legged friend on a leash, or some friends and come join the fun! We also give back to the community by donating proceeds from our events to local nonprofit organizations that provide youth support, education, and sports programs.
