PPIE Pleasanton Run for Education routes


The Pleasanton Run for Education 15km will take runners of quick, flat route which meanders through the scenic paved trails and streets within Pleasanton. Runners will enjoy a friendly and inspiring crowd to cheer them on throughout.


The Pleasanton Run for Education 10k takes place largely on the stunning Marilyn Kane Trail before tackling the crowd-lined streets and paved trails of Pleasanton.


The Pleasanton Run for Education 5K is a great option for family's wishing to enjoy a great day out together. The route tracks from the Alameda County Fairgrounds all the way to downtown Pleasanton.

Kids Run (Under 12):

The Pleasanton Run for Education Kids’ Challenge is a fun sprint within the gates of the Alameda County Fairgrounds. The Kids’ Challenge race will be a 1/4 mile event. The Kids’ Challenge route will be on the lawn around the Family Fitness Expo and will finish through the official finish chute under the finish line arch. This event is open to kids under 12 years old.

1500 - 2000

Saturday April 18th:

1200 - 1500

Raceday Schedule:

15k and 10k start

0800: 5k starts

0915: Kids challenge

0930: Award ceremonies begin

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled race start time to ensure there is ample time to drop your bag and have a good warm-up.


The spectator-friendly finish is back in the Alameda County Fairgrounds so your family can cheer you on and hear your name as you cross the finish line.

How can I donate to PPIE?
The current donation goal is $10,000 and all donations can be made by using this link: All proceeds go toward funding key staff and programs at 15 of PPIE's public schools - helping over 15,000 students and 9,400 school families.
Do the races have age limits?
The kids challenge event is upon to all children under the age of 12 and Youth 5K runners must be aged 17 and under.

PPIE is a non-profit, 501(c)3 foundation that supports all schools in the Pleasanton Unified School District. Since 1987, PPIE has raised over $5 million dollars for our schools through corporate partner donations, special events, and community-based fundraising efforts. Funds raised by PPIE support and re-establish critical district-wide programs for students threatened in recent years by state budget cuts, and to fund projects enhancing educational excellence for all students. In the 2018/2019 school year, PPIE contributed $711,000 for our district’s schools, which was used to hire a new ‘wellness’ director for the school district, reading and math intervention specialists for all levels, support counselors, IT support, INSPIRE grants for teacher- and student-led STEAM projects, and bus transportation for elementary Outdoor Education.
