Route information
Take on the challenge of this incredible 200-ish mile journey in San Diego in a team of 12 or 6 runners. You'll wind your way through world-famous cities on the Pacific Ocean coastline like La Jolla, Encinitas and Cardiff-by-the-Sea, basking in the peace and awe that only comes from seeing the ocean while running at night, and explore the gorgeous groves that gave Orange County its name.
Your team of 12 will run 36 legs, with each runner completing 3 legs and completing a total distance ranging from 10.7 miles to 22.5 miles. The legs vary in difficulty and are classified as either easy, moderate or hard. The first section of the course will take you through Chula Vista and National City before you head into the heart of San Diego and into the vibrant neighbourhood of Ocean Beach.
After reaching Pacific Beach, you'll continue on through the seaside town of La Jolla and then head inland towards the quiet neighbourhoods of Sabre Springs. Leg 20 will bring you back to the coastline and along beachfront at Del Mar, before you continue on to Cardiff-by-the-Sea and the beach city of Encinitas.
From there, you'll head straight along Route 5 through Oceanside and San Clemente, entering Orange County. The final stretch of the route will take you inland towards affluent Laguna Hills and then into Irvine, with the two concluding legs of the race taking you back towards the coastline.
Then, you and your teammates will cross the new finish line in iconic Huntington Beach (aka “Surf City USA”), where you can join thousands of your fellow runners, right on the beach, to celebrate your victory at one of our most epic finish line parties ever.
Sign up now to run, drive, sleep, repeat all the way from San Diego to Huntington Beach, California.
