Green Loop - River Trail
Distance: 3.1 Miles
Elevation Gain: 615.21ft
The Smallest loop of the event, the River Trail (Green Loop) starts in the Ragnar village, making a loop around The Lodge at Sugar Bowl and returning to the village. The course starts with a gradual decline for the first third, then the elevation starts slowly increasing, and then heads toward the finish on a mostly flat trail, before tackling a sharp uphill climb and finishing on a downhill run back to the Village.
Yellow Loop - Mt Judah Trail
Distance: 5.2 Miles Elevation Gain: 1458.26ft
Though not the longest loop at this event, the Mt Judah Trail (Yellow Loop) is the highest. In fact, this loop is Ragnar's third-highest run. The route's first half is a constant climb up to Mt Judah Peak. The second half is a decline back to the village, with a short incline near Mt Lincoln.
Red Loop - Crows Nest Trail
Distance: 6.7 Miles Elevation Gain: 1958.27ft
The Crows Nest Trail (Red Loop) is the longest of the 3 main loops at this event. Initially following the same route as the Green Loop, the Red Loop diverts to a much longer trail near the Royal Gorge & Mount Disney. The course starts with a gradual decline (with a very sharp descent and then ascent in the middle) and then has a long and tough climb for the main portion of the loop. upon reaching the peak of the run, the loop descends back to the Ragnar Village.
