Very well organized race. Had to run alternate course because of flooding. Would rather run the real course. But nothing they can control. Next year. The best thing about this race is it is free with optional shirt fee. Half Marathons are so expensive these days. Nice to get a break. Made the trip and hotel worth it. Might consider pairing up with a few hotels for discounts.

This is the third time I have run this race and it is a very well run race. The organizers really seem to want to put on a good race. I have done races and felt as if the organizers were doing it just to do it. The volunteers are all warm and helpful and it is a race that I would recommend to anyone!

22 degrees and just cold. I never got warm. All I can say is be prepared for either cold or warm. The course is nice and pretty. Rolling hills but not ridiculous hills like Atlanta, what I'm used to. Great race for a freebie!

Reggie and Carolee always do a stellar job coordinating these races. The course had to be altered several times because the original course was flooded by the river. However, without skipping a beat, they were to creat a last minute out and back course that was every bit as scenic and thoughtful. On top of that it was free, so the really special part was seeing many of the people in town and abroad who don't normally compete come out and test themselves.

Fantastic race, especially for a USATF certified course and it being free! Aid stations were spaced appropriately, portapotties were readily available and clean, and packet pickup was very easy. Timing is a gun start with chip finish. Course is out and back with a chip time at the turn around, and goes through historic downtown, through an industrial area, then up through park trails and back. The normal course also includes running along the riverfront, however, excessive rains and the resulting higher river level prevented that this year. The only thing of note is that I noticed a few of the pacers were a little off of tempo by a minute or two (I crossed right before the 1:40 target pacer but finished at 1:43:30) but that is a very minor complaint. Would definitely recommend!

Amazingly well run and organized for a free race. I also enjoy the down and back course so you can see leaders and others running. Also, an extremely fast course with little to no hills. I plan to be back annually (100 miles from Atlanta).
