Resolution Run 6K

Get ready to kick off the new year in style with the New Year’s Day Resolution Run! Mark your calendars for Monday, January 1st, 2024, because this event is going to be epic. We're hosting a 6K run (that's 3.71 miles, for those counting) at the beautiful Vollmer Road Trails in Olympia Fields, Illinois. Now, let me tell you why this run is going to be amazing. The 3rd Annual Resolution Run is your perfect opportunity to wave goodbye to 2023 and embrace 2024 with open arms. Picture yourself racing through the trails on New Year's Day, starting at a reasonable 11am. What a way to start the year, right? And guess what? This event is for everyone! We welcome families and participants of all ages, so whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, you're invited to join us. You can run, jog, or even crawl your way to achieving your first resolution of the year. Just make sure to bundle up with warm layers, lace up your running shoes, and get ready to "run into" 2024! Now, let's talk about what you get when you sign up. Your race entry includes a first-class running experience, chip-timing for accurate results, and a course that's totally set up and well-marked. But that's not all! We also have some incredible prizes and race swag that you won't want to miss out on. And to commemorate your first fitness goal of the year, the first 100 registrants will receive a free custom t-shirt! But hurry, the deadline to snag this awesome t-shirt is December 13th at midnight. Now, let's get down to the logistics. The run starts at 11am, so make sure to be there on time. Packet pickup will be on race day at the start area, so no need to worry about that. The course is a paved trail, and yes, it's stroller-friendly. Oh, and one exciting thing is that dogs are allowed too, so bring your furry friends along for the fun! As for transportation, there's parking available at the start area. If that fills up, don't worry. There's an overflow lot off Flossmoor Road, just about a mile from the start. If you park there, make a left when entering the trails. If you prefer to take public transportation, the Olympia Fields Metra station is only 2 miles away from the start area. Now, let's talk awards. We believe in recognizing and celebrating achievements, so we will be awarding medals to the top three overall finishers as well as the top three in various age groups. Whether you're 14 or 70+, there's a chance for you to earn some well-deserved recognition. The awards ceremony will take place at approximately 12:15pm, so stick around for that.
