Half Marathon

Well organized despite dealing with icy conditions. Three things I loved were (1) the comfy lightweight hoodies given to all racers that broke the monotony of tech race shirts I've grown bored of, (2) they handed out overall awards as soon as the top three were done instead of asking us to stay another hour, and (3) the friendly and encouraging attitude of the director as well as all racers and volunteers. A very fun and well run race, but very unpredictable weather is inevitable this time of year in the Tri-Cities 

2019 Richland Runfest was fantastically organized from beginning to end. The weather put a damper on this year's race but the people organizing and volunteering made this race enjoyable despite the conditions. Excellent Race that I plan on doing next year  

The course directors did an amazing job of making it work despite some really rough weather conditions.  They spent hours and hours shoveling snow, scraping and salting ice, and developing an alternate course that would work for all three distances.  There were plenty of aid stations, and great snacks afterwards.  They even had an amazing training group to prep for the race.  I loved this race so much and can't wait to do it again next year!

This was my first half marathon, and it didn't go well for me. We got a ton of snow and I didn't run for 3 weeks leading up to the run. But that's my fault. As for the course I was disappointed that the city didn't live up to their end of the deal and have the path cleared, that made it way more challenging than it needed to be. But even though I felt like I was going to die after mile 9, overall it was a great race. Everyone that volunteered was super supportive towards the runners, and Amanda did an AMAZING job at keeping everyone in the loop about the race. I'm going to do another half marathon in September, let's hope that there's no snow this time.
