Route information

Marathon

The Cleveland Marathon features a relatively flat and fast course, great volunteer support and a scenic view of downtown Cleveland and its major landmarks. The course has been designed for our athletes to enjoy views of Lake Erie and many other Cleveland highlights for a complete tour of Cleveland. The Full Marathon course is USATF certified and a Boston Qualifier.

The full marathon course will be open for 7 hours beginning at 7:00 a.m for both runners and walkers.

Half Marathon

Just like the marathon, the half marathon features a relatively fast and flat course, great volunteer support and a scenic view of downtown Cleveland and its major landmarks. The course has been designed for our athletes to enjoy views of Lake Erie and many other Cleveland highlights. The 13.1 mile course mirrors the first half of the marathon course. Half marathoners will turn off at that time, but finish at the same location as the marathoners.The half marathon route is USATF certified.

The half marathon course will be open for 4 hours beginning at 7:00 a.m.

10k

NOW ON SATURDAY, the Rite Aid Cleveland 10K, like the other races features a relatively fast and flat course, great volunteer support and a scenic view of downtown Cleveland and some of its most beautiful suburbs. The course has been designed for our athletes to enjoy views of Lake Erie and many other Cleveland highlights. The 10K route is USATF certified.

The 10K course will be open for 2 hours.

This is a great chance for walkers or runners to join the events of race weekend or even to stretch your legs the day before the big race!

Kid's Run

The Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon Kids' Run is packed full of fun for everyone, especially the kiddos. Kids of all ages will be winners when they participate in this fun event for the entire family that helps promote health and fitness at an early age. Kids' Run sponsors this year include University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospitals and Adrenaline Monkey.

RITE AID CLEVELAND MARATHON CHALLENGE SERIES

The Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon introduces the Challenge Series which offers new options for runners and walkers who wish to challenge themselves! The challenge series is divided into four levels of varying difficulty and requires a 2-day commitment from participants:

10K and Full Marathon
10K and Half Marathon
5K and Full Marathon
5K and Half Marathon

All race participants will need to pick up their bibs (timing chip attached) and t-shirts at the free Health and Fitness Expo. There is no race-day pickup!

Did the race in 2016

I have run 3 full marathons, 3 half marathons and several other endurance events. I am always amazed at how well run this event it. The energy at the start and finish lines are amazing, and the beer garden and post-race party never disappoint. I have set PRs in multiple events in Cleveland.
