RJA Memorial Mighty Montauk Triathlon Founded in 1982 by the late Robert J. Aaron. Long considered the east end season opener would be celebrating its 31st anniversary this year. The race consists of a 1 mile swim, 22 miles bike and 6.2 miles run.

Route information
This course must be completed in 3 hours 55 minutes.
SWIM - The distance is 1 mile in the calm salt water of Lake Montauk. The course is out and back. Since this race is in the spring, wet suits are recommended (water temperature is normally around 55 degrees Fahrenheit).
BIKE - The distance is 22 miles taking you along Montauk historical routes; giving you a bird's eye view of the famous Montauk Lighthouse. The course is out and back with some hills. Hardshell helmets (ANSE approved) and bar end plugs are mandatory. This race adheres to USAT policy of NO DRAFTING.
RUN - The distance is 6.2 miles through the scenic side of Montauk challenging hills . NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES ON THE COURSE (ex: iPods, MP3 players etc). No water stops on the bike course, however, water stops are at one mile intervals on the run course.

From the LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY:
Take the LIE to exit 70. Take exit 70 to 27 East (Montauk Highway). Take 27 East directly into Montauk. One mile out of village, turn left on West Lake Drive (also called County Road 77). Two miles on West Lake Drive, Harborside is the first Motel on the left.

IF YOU ARE TRAVELING FROM SOUTHERN STATE: Take Southern State to exit 44. Exit 44 brings you onto 27 East (Montauk Highway). Then follow the directions above.

Accommodations are being made at different locations for secure parking. Participants will be directed by the local police officers on the day of race. Please comply with the directions given by officers.

Event day logistics
Packet Pickup: Fri. June 7th 2019 from 10.00am to 10.00pm at the Harborside Motel, 371 West Lake Drive, Montauk NY 11954.
ABSOLUTELY NO RACE REGISTRATION/PACKET PICK UP ON DAY OF THE EVENT. Participants must be present with photo ID to collect race packet. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Non-USAT members must pay $10.00 for one day membership. The race is on rain or shine.
