Run for the Riverfront 5K

Get ready to break a sweat and support Riverfront Recapture's Community Rowing Program! Join us for our third annual 5K event and make a difference. Here are the race details: - 5K Run: Lace up your running shoes and take on the course. The race starts and finishes at the Greater Hartford Jaycees Boathouse in Riverside Park. - 5K Row: If you're an experienced single sculler, reserve your spot in the club singles with Jonathan. It's a unique opportunity to row and support a great cause. - 5K Erg: Limited spots are available on the ergs, so register early! Get ready to give it your all and compete against others in this challenging event. This event is not just about the race, it's also a fundraiser. All net proceeds will directly benefit the rowing program. You can also raise donations for participating in the event, and top fundraisers will receive exciting prizes. If you aren't able to join the race, you can still support a rower of your choice by making a donation. Join us for some post-race fun. - 10:30 am: Awards Ceremony - We'll celebrate the top performers and fundraisers of the event. Speaking of awards, here's what you can strive for: - 5K Run: The top 3 overall male and female finishers, as well as the first place in each age division, will be recognized. - 5K Erg: We'll honor the top 3 overall male and female finishers under 19, 20-40, 41-60, and 61+. - 5K Row: The top 3 overall male and female rowers, applying USRowing age handicaps, will receive well-deserved recognition. - 5K Fundraising: The top 3 adult fundraisers, top 3 high school students fundraisers, and the top fundraising group will be acknowledged. It's an incredible initiative that serves over 650 people annually and is one of New England's largest and most successful community rowing programs. From recreational to competitive classes, including opportunities to join nationally recognized racing teams, there's something for everyone, regardless of age. The program also offers Adaptive and Veterans programs, as well as youth clinics taught by passionate college coaches. Operating out of the Boathouse in Hartford's historic Riverside Park on the Connecticut River for over 25 years, this program has made a lasting impact.
