Route information
Half Marathon:
The half marathon route takes you through the Mojave Desert, undoubtedly one of the most scenic and peaceful places to run on the planet. Kicking-off from the car-park in front of Laughlin High School, there will be one lap of the school track before heading out to tackle the roads around Laughlin.
After a significant stretch along Highway 163, you will begin to see the Davis Dam silhouette in the distance as you cruise downhill on the quickest section of the race. Participants will follow past a spot notorious for cowboy sightings, and enjoy this scenic desert section.
The final stage of the run will take you over a slight uphill bridge section before a descent onto Casino Row before the finish line greets all participants.
Conquer the Dam 12k:
The event starts at Casino Row before participants head onto Pedestrian Bridge. They will take in the nearby sights of Colorado River and then climb a high hill before reaching the infamous dam.
Having arrived at the Dam, participants can opt to take a commemorative photo with their feet in Arizona before heading back towards Nevada.
5k:
Participants will stretch out across the straightaway found on Casino row in the first kilometer of the event and will then cross the famous Colorado River after breezing over Pedestrian Bridge. After drifting through a short trail section, participants will turn around and head back towards the bridge itself.
Participants will then return down the river and take in a well-awaited downhill section on the final kilometer towards the finish.

It is a great race no matter which distance you choose... The post party with all runners is great. From start to finish . Am hoping the review board reads this because i have a request I had to leave the post party early and missed out on the trophy hand outs. Am 72 years old and took 2nd in my age. Some how I would like to get that medal.

Very Festive and well organized. The trail went off Stip so less crowds to worry about when running. The One hill up to the Dam was a perfect challenge. Running back by In and Out burger was super exciting. I loved the t-shirts this year! AWESOME work with this event.

This was my 5th year - and there were more people than ever....both runners and spectators. I live in Laughlin and I am so impressed with how many people come to participate. It is spectacularly organized and so much fun. And it is nice to hear people comment on how much they like the location of the event.

Well organized until the awards ceremony. My first time to run the 12k. Just wanted to finish it. I loved the run. I hope to compete next year. Awards were very confusing. Computer, based on bib# and name showed me as 2nd in my age group, 60-64, yet at awards ceremony I was told I was first. Final results here show me 2nd. Why the mistake/confusion? There were 7 runners in my age group, yet only 2 identified.

Look around! This race is set in the desert but you have beautiful mountains with the river and Lake Mohave!

If you are looking for a fun, fast and not too crowded race, then you should check out Run Laughlin Half Marathon, 5K & 10K. From the time I checked in to the time I drove away fromt eh after party, I was all smiles. The only thing that is personally sad about this race, is that the 5K runners don't get the experience of running across the dam, across state line, across 2 time zones.

You awaken as you walk through the muted sounds of slot machines paying out as you make your way to embark on your ride to the starting line. You're whisked away aboard a posh tour bus and arrive at Laughlin High School where you sit and stretch comfortably within the gym, away out of the cool morning temps. The course is well marked out and beware the miles that begin once you leave the High School grounds - miles 1.5 - 4 are a rigorous, gradual uphill. Abandon your goal pace - but you'll make it up in the later miles (promise). Once you turn onto Hwy 163, you run East into the rising sun as you happily descend for the next four miles. The scenery is spectacular. I encourage you to pause and take photos atop the Davis Dam - with Lake Mohave to the North and the Colorado River stretching out to the South. The course winds up on Casino Row and the finish party was first rate.
