Run Laughlin Half Marathon, 5K & 12K routes

Half Marathon:

The half marathon route takes you through the Mojave Desert, undoubtedly one of the most scenic and peaceful places to run on the planet. Kicking-off from the car-park in front of Laughlin High School, there will be one lap of the school track before heading out to tackle the roads around Laughlin.

After a significant stretch along Highway 163, you will begin to see the Davis Dam silhouette in the distance as you cruise downhill. Not for long however, as you will quickly climb the rim of the dam itself and here behold panoramic views over the awe-inspiring Colorado River. Make sure to stop off at the designated #SelfieSpot to capture these epic views.

The final stage of the run will take you over a bridge before descending back onto Casino Drive, with the photo finish merely 3/4 of a mile ahead.

Conquer the Dam 12k:

Kicking-off from Casino row, the initial stages of the route will meander alongside the Colorado River before reaching the 5k turn and heading on towards David Dam. Once at the Dam, be sure to get your picture taken with your feet in both states.

The final stages of the race will cross over the pedestrian bridge and down toward the vibrant lights of Casino Row.

5K:

The 5k route will follow a similar course to the initial stages of the 12k race, and thus get the opportunity to enjoy all the glitz and glamour of Casino Row as well as the natural beauty which surrounds it.

Raceday Logistics

Schedule:

7:00am: Half Marathon starts

7:50am: 12K starts

8:00am: 5K starts

11:00am: Cut-off

Please arrive at least 45 minutes before your schedule race to ensure there is ample time to complete the registration process and have a sufficient warm-up.

Designated bus times will be sent out to half marathon runners.

Packet Pick-Up

The Race Expo will take place on Friday December 4th. If you are collecting your race packet then make sure to bring your ID. Inside there will be your bib, timing chip, shirt, goodie bag and further race information.

You will not be able to pick up a bib for anyone else, unless you have a signed waiver by them and a copy of their ID.

Saturday December 5th

There will be packet collection available on the day of the event, which will also take place at Tropicana Laughlin.

VIP Race Day Packet Pickup service for the Half Marathon is available for an extra fee of $40.

Spectators

Spectators are more than welcome and there is easy access to a number of great vantage points from which to cheer on the runners.

Please be aware that all half marathon spectators will be required to choose only one spot, rather than trying to 'leapfrog' throughout the course.

Can I use headphones during the event?

No. RRCA regulations prevent the use of headphones for participants.

I would recommend having the pacers start with their runners. The 3:15 pacer was way in front of the 2:45 pacer at the beginning. The 2:15 pacer did not stay on pace and finished after her time. Use a mega phone at the start so everyone can here what was being said.
