The route was amazing, everything seemed very organized and they had transportation to take runners from the finish line back to parking. I have 1 minor complaint and that was that my bib# was incorrect which falls on me as well for not double checking at registration
This was my first time to drive down to run the Russell Forest 10K. As described, there were rolling hills on a wide, well-maintained forest path. I rate the course as 4 stars because a few of the hills are short-and-very-steep, making it not runnable for most persons. Most runners dropped down to a walk for one or two of the hills. But that really just feels like camaraderie on a trail run. There were loads of clapping volunteers throughout the course, and every turn was well marked with arrows. The path is really ideal for running, without roots or rocks to trip you up. The after party is second to none, with good food, ample variety of drinks, lots of volunteers, and a live band. Registration and packet pickup were easy, and the race directors were very friendly. Also, I'm glad it supports the local public schools. I recommend this event to everyone.
